Biography

SAN FRANCISCO — The San Francisco Glens announced today that Amy Sayer has signed with the club for the 2023 USL W League season, pending league approval.

Currently a member of the Australian National Team, the versatile forward/midfielder has earned six international caps for the Matildas. She also played three seasons (2017-20) for Canberra United and Sydney FC in the Australian W-League, the highest pro level in the country.

"I'm excited to be joining the Glens for the upcoming USL W League season," said Sayer. "I'll be joining a lot of my old teammates and coaches, and I'm excited to see a lot of new faces as well. It's going to be a fantastic summer. Up the Glens!"

At the collegiate level, Sayer has played for Stanford University the past three seasons, earning All-Conference Freshman honors in 2020 and Pac-12 Academic Honor Roll kudos in 2021. In 2022, she scored four goals and notched two assists as the Cardinal won the conference championship.

Originally from Sydney, Australia, she started her youth club career at Northbridge FC and later, the FNSW Institute, before signing for Sydney University in 2016.
